Abiquiu-Ghost Ranch, Flowers and Plants
Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings of the northwest corner of New Mexico are amongst her best-known. She depicted dramatic landscapes and desert imagery of Abiquiú and Ghost Ranch, where the artist lived and worked. Inspired by the terrain, O’Keeffe painted rocks, cliffs, and bones in studied close-up as she had done with her flower series. The region’s intense colors, beautiful landscapes, and brightness of light sparked her imagination for more than four decades.
